Postgraduate Studies

Classified Information Protection and Information Security Administration

GOAL OF THE STUDIES

The studies are aimed at people professionally involved in the classified information protection, personal data protection, and information security in government and local government administration, courts, military institutions, enterprises, as well as people who intend to undertake such work.

DESCRIPTION

The studies are implemented within the framework of ten subject modules and a diploma seminar, of which two modules: Classified Information Protection and Personal Data Protection are the leading modules. Modules complementing the knowledge are: Information Infrastructure, Selected Problems of National Security, Security of IT Systems and Networks, Industrial Security and Trade Secret, Quality and Information Security Management Systems, as well as Risk Assessment and Management, Cyber Terrorism and Information Security Threats in Cyberspace, Critical Infrastructure and Crisis Management, Document Storage.

GRADUATE PROFILE

The studies provide the opportunity to acquire knowledge and practical skills in securing various types of data, which allows the graduates to gain a unique position in the modern labour market. After completing their education, students can act as classified information protection supervisors, heads of secret offices, and other employees of security sections, data administrators, personal data protection inspectors, information security administrators. During the studies, students also receive: Certificate of the Auditor of the internal quality management and information security system, issued by the Quality Certification Center of the Military University of Technology.

CURRICULUM

The curriculum is implemented on the basis of two leading modules – Classified Information Protection and Personal Data Protection. As part of them, among others, courses concerning information infrastructure, selected problems of national security, security of IT systems and networks, document storage, critical infrastructure and crisis management as well as cyber terrorism and information security threats in cyberspace are implemented.

LECTURERS

The classes are conducted by researchers and practitioners with professional experience, implementing information security policy in companies as well as public and private institutions. The lecturers are experts in the field of: state security, protection of classified information, personal data protection, security of IT systems, information security, information infrastructure, IT law, archives, crisis management, leading auditors quality and information security management system, mostly cooperating with the studies from the first edition, authors of numerous publications in the field of study.

Organisation of classes:
The studies include twelve meetings taking place on Saturdays and Sundays, from 9 a.m. to around 4 p.m.

Graduation criteria:
In order to complete postgraduate studies, a student must obtain all the credits provided for in the curriculum and defend the diploma thesis. Students choose or propose their own topic of the diploma thesis, concerning, for example, the needs related to their professional duties.

Graduation document:
Postgraduate diploma issued by the University of Silesia in Katowice.

During the studies, students also receive: Certificate of the Auditor of the internal quality management and information security system, issued by the Quality Certification Center of the Military University of Technology.

ADMISSION PROCESS

Candidates
The studies are oriented towards university graduates with a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Engineer’s degree, especially those professionally involved in the issues of classified information protection, personal data, and information security.

Electronic admission process in Online Application System (IRK) on the dates specified in Online Application System (IRK). Choose and proceed according to the instructions.

Admission criteria:
Candidates are admitted to studies according to the registration order and the result of the admission procedure (if it was conducted).

FEES

After being admitted to postgraduate studies, you may start your studies, subject to paying the fee for postgraduate studies. Payments should be made to the student’s individual account, within the deadlines specified in the agreement.
