Creating Leadership and Professional Development

GOAL OF THE STUDIES

The goal of the studies is for students to acquire highly developed soft skills, including interpersonal, management, and leadership skills. The teaching staff consists of highly qualified lecturers, specialists and practitioners with years of experience, which guarantees success in acquisition of the skills during the studies. As part of the studies, meetings with mayors of cities, presidents of significant companies, and directors are held.

DESCRIPTION

A great advantage of the studies are classes conducted by practitioners and experts in their respective fields, who willingly and passionately share their knowledge and experience. Practicals, workshops, and trainings are an excellent opportunity to develop and acquire skills in interpersonal communication, leadership, team management, public speaking, mediation and negotiation, time management, auto-motivation, efficiency, emotional and stress management, voice emission and pronunciation techniques, business image, the multi-generational workforce management in an organisation, as well as the art of diplomacy.

GRADUATE PROFILE

After completing the studies:

  • You will be equipped with a high level of soft skills that will contribute to building a competitive advantage on the labour market, building authority, and achieving professional success (promotions)
  • You will be able to apply the acquired skills in team management – being a leader, motivating employees, solving and preventing conflicts, managing time and emotions
  • You will be skilled in self-presentation, self-promotion, mediation and negotiation in business, preparation of professional public speeches, the art of diplomacy, image creation in the media and in the social reality.

CURRICULUM

During the course of studies, meetings with leaders of leading companies, presidents, directors, and city authorities are held, which provide practical advice and tips that can be used in your professional life.

The curriculum includes:

  • the art of diplomacy – diplomatic protocol and etiquette
  • psychology of interpersonal communication – training
  • voice emission and pronunciation techniques training
  • emotions and stress management
  • time management, self-motivation and efficiency training
  • a series of meetings with LEADERS – business meetings
  • negotiation and mediation
  • multi-generational workforce management in an organisation
  • multimedia business presentations
  • coaching workshops
  • public appearances
  • LEADER mission – training
  • work-life balance in business.

LECTURERS

The teaching staff consists of employees of the University of Silesia, as well as specialists in image consulting, savoir-vivre, diplomatic protocol and etiquette, and voice emission and pronunciation techniques.

Waldemar Wojtasik, PhD, DLitt – academic lecturer, image advisor of high-level managers and politicians
Marek Rachoń, PhD, DLitt – actor, trainer, speech therapist, educator. An Assistant Professor at the Vocal and Acting Institute of the University of Music in Łódź, where he teaches diction, theatrical singing, and basics of acting.
Agnieszka Turska-Kawa, PhD, DLitt – the author of several dozen articles concerning the issues of electoral behavior, in particular their psychological determinants, as well as political leadership and civic competences. President of the Electoral Research Section at Polish Political Science Association (PTNP).
Katarzyna Kiepas-Remesz, MA – psychologist with multiple years of experience. A certified coach at the Polish School of Coaching.
Agata Krawczyk-Kalitowska, MA – sociology and pedagogy graduate. Interpersonal trainer. A mediator, active for 9 years, entered on the list of permanent mediators at the District Court in Katowice.
Katarzyna Juszczyk-Frelkiewicz, PhD – sociologist. Visegrad scholar. She has completed “Soft skills” training at the Wageningen University in the Netherlands. A graduate of the Executive MBA programme.
Leszek Kazimierski, MA – First Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Moscow, Deputy Director of the Polish Institute in Moscow. Lecturer at the Unesco Department at the Jagiellonian University. Author of professional articles and advice in trade magazines and popular periodicals and books on the art of public speaking, savoir-vivre, diplomatic protocol, and self-presentation. Trainer, advisor, manager of training and consulting projects working with many well-known companies and corporations.

Number of hours: 178

Organisation of classes:
Classes take place on Saturdays (if possible, every two weeks), from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Graduation criteria:
In order to complete postgraduate studies, a student must obtain credits from all of the courses. Graded final exam (oral exam in the form of a presentation).

Graduation document:
Postgraduate diploma issued by the University of Silesia in Katowice.

ADMISSION PROCESS

Candidates
The postgraduate studies are aimed at corporate employees, managers, leaders, directors, teachers and academic lecturers, employees of state institutions, politicians, and graduates of 1st, 2nd, or 3rd cycle studies who want to improve their interpersonal skills necessary in any job and at any position.

In particular, the addressees of the study programme are: corporate employees, managers, leaders, directors, academic lecturers, teachers, administrative employees, employees of state institutions, councillors, and politicians.

Apply online
Electronic admission process in Online Application System (IRK) on the dates specified in Online Application System (IRK). Choose and proceed according to the instructions.

Admission criteria:
Candidates are admitted to studies according to the registration order and the result of the admission procedure (if it was conducted).

FEES

After being admitted to postgraduate studies, you may start your studies, subject to paying the fee for postgraduate studies. Payments should be made to the student’s individual account, within the deadlines specified in the agreement.
